We openly laugh at wanna-bes who actually consider Word, Excel, and Outlook to be “programming skills”. Maybe unless they actually did some VBA scripting or something. Being able to create a spreadsheet is not exactly why we need to hire someone.

The Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is over in the States for a visit, including a speech at Columbia University. He seems to have worn out his welcome before he got here, which is not all that easy to do.
Several months ago, I dreamt about getting to meet him face-to-face in Iran. He spoke heavily accented English and showed me around his mansion. He was very friendly, but the dream ended before I could ask any of the many questions I had in mind.
I suspect President Ahmadinejad is really a rather nice guy, except maybe that wanting to destroy Israel thing.
