LOLBBQ

If you don’t know already, McCain got LOLBBQ’d* last night in the election; unlike the last two elections, it didn’t even stay interesting very long. Once Obama won Pennsylvania and Iowa, I stopped paying much attention.

Should you be Republican, you can be relieved the GOP needs to pick up only 1 of the 4 open seats in the Senate to allow filibusters.

If you are white, this article on what not to do in light of Obama’s victory is required reading. Especially note number 5.

*Aware that according to urbandictionary.com, I’m using “LOLBBQ” incorrectly. I’ve always known it as a synonym for “pwn”, and will stubbornly continue to use it as such.

Trigger Happy

Trigger Happy was a British TV show of the hidden camera humor variety. Unlike something like Candid Camera, no one seems to pop out and tell the “victims” they’ve been pranked.

Plenty of others on YouTube as well. Enjoy!

Wendy's Icon

: Hey, Donnie, I was curious about something.

: Yes?

: You know that redhead girl in the Wendy’s logo?

: Sure.

: Do you think she’s hot?

: No, not really.

Power Rankings

From AP:

In fact, maybe Texas Tech shoots to the top of the rankings and the BCS standings? More likely, Alabama moves to No. 1. The question is whether the Red Raiders, on the strength of their first victory against a No. 1 team, can jump over the likes of Florida, Southern California and unbeaten Penn State on Sunday.

OK, look. Texas Tech is undefeated, knocked off #1 Texas, and last week destroyed then-#23 Kansas 63-21.

If the human polls don’t put them ahead of one-loss Florida and USC, that is a complete scandal.

I’d have the Red Raiders as the new #1. This is different from saying I think the Red Raiders are the best team in the country; they probably aren’t. But those polls are based on what happens on the field, and their performance has been impressive enough to deserve it.

I have a lot more faith in the computer polls. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Handling Halloween

I wanted to organize a big Halloween bash but Donnie was like “lolz halloween’s for sux0rs noob” and Mr. E said “Naw, man, I’m too old for that stuff.”

So was I stuck deciding whether to crash a party or pulling a trick and stealing the kids’ treats (haha, see what I did there?) Now I’ve only been in human culture for a year, so someone had to advise me that it’s not impossible I’d get “arrested” if things got out of hand. So I decided to just hand out egg-free food to local trick-or-treaters.

I needed to get a treat, so went to the store and bought a box of raisins. Unfortunately, I ate most of the box so there wasn’t very much left come evening, so each kid would have a strict ration of 5 raisins. Here’s an example of how it went:

[Kid knocks on the door; I open it. There are three tub-o-lard kids and a parent.]
Kids: Trick-or-treat!!!
Fat Kid: That’s a great costume, Mr. Egg!
Me: I’m not wearing a costume, I’m really an egg.
Obese Kid: Ha ha. You’re funny, Mr. Egg!
Obeser Kid: What about our treats?
[I decided they were so fat, they didn't need more food. So I gave them 3 raisins instead of 5.]
Parent: What was that you put in the bag?
Me: Raisins. Each kid got 3. I made sure they all got the same thing.
Fat Kid: Ew, raisins?
Obeser Kid: Yeah, that sucks!
Me: Shut up you ungrateful little twerp! Your fat butt is going to have a heart attack at 14 and you don’t need more help from me to do it!
Parent: Is this your idea of a joke?
Me: Maybe if you stopped feeding your kids Crisco bars and ice cream for breakfast, I wouldn’t feel bad about giving them candy!
Parent: Ugh! You are a disgusting (etc., etc.)

Next year, I’m crashing a party.
