Analogy fail
Any “role model” worth his salt will gladly tell you that free individuals are under no ethical obligation to obey unjust laws, and the prohibition of cannabis certainly fits the bill there. Where would our society be if people always followed stupid rules? Women wouldn’t be able to vote and black people would still be giving up their seats on the bus if it wasn’t for the occasional worthwhile person telling the irrational lawmakers to get bent.
Because the right to smoke marijuana is just like the right to vote.
