A proper and justified coronation

Finally, and only three weeks late. The celebration video honoring Ivan’s victory in the Second Tournament of Lepers! I had promised a “proper and justified coronation” for Ivan a few weeks back, and decided to let the Mascot handle the details. (In retrospect, this was a mistake.)

Ivan won a $25 USCF e-certificate for his efforts. Polly got $10 for second place.

Info on the third tournament coming soon.

  1. Dude, that video is SWEET. HAHAHAHAH. Was that Ivan’s real voice? You put my video-editing abilities to shame, my friend (I mean, enemy). What software did you use to put this together? HAHAHAHHAHAHA.

  3. Mascot kinda sounds like Batman. hmmm 13ruce, are you moonlighting? :)

  4. My voice is even more gravely and intimidating to criminals and than his. Just rewatch one of my last two films and you will see. GREAT video!! IVI (I’m Very Impressed, you just wait and see, it will be the next LOL). On an off-topic note, I was thinking during one of those times when people think of such things, if the mascot ever had kids he could name one of the males “Eggward” or “Eggwardo” (Or is it Egguardo) and one of the girls “Shelley” or has shelley already been taken by another meh?(mutant egg etc.) I can’t remember.

  5. @Caro: Actually, you probably have better video splicing skillz. This production was actually very crudely done. It used Windows’ (free, crappy) Movie Maker, putting together a bunch of Photoshopped images.

What I really want to do start using Flash more, and maybe throw in a Poser video one of these days to look really impressive.

“Ivan” was actually me, using Audacity to manipulate the voice. No clue what he really sounds like.

    @Q: Thanks.

@Annie: Interesting, most people say the Mascot sounds like a gravelly, deeper me (which, frankly, is hard to understand).

@l3rucewayne: You know, I haven’t gotten around to seeing your last movie…heard it was good though.

Re: the Mascot having kids. As far as I know, he had a vasectomy, being much more interested in the sex part than the kids part.

LOL on the names, though; I’m sure he’ll keep them in mind if he does have little ones.

  6. I was pleasantly surprised by the $10 gift certificate. Thanks! I’m looking forward to LEPers III

  7. Donnie,

That was a great coronation - Thanks.

Thanks again for the gift certificate.

Hey you know what I sound like, I talked to you after the game. Maybe I was talking to the mascot.

    Puts Blunder-productions to shame.

  9. I tried to learn Flash myself - here were the disastrous results:

  10. Wonderful! I didn’t know there were huge cash prizes for winning the Leppers tournament. Baby needs a new pair of shoes–hopefully there will be a third tourney and room for one more. ;)

  11. Awesome. Egg is lucky he didn’t get stolen and eaten up while in BK. That dude’s got nards of steel!

  12. Damn, third place didn’t get me anything? How about a hug from the Mascot?

    Comment by Chessaholic | 1 October 2008

  13. Dude, Mascot, you know I love you like a brother. So know that I’m saying this completely in a spirit of love.

Don’t ask for a Happy Meal at Burger King next time (that’s for McDonald’s). It makes you look stupid.

    Comment by Mr. E | 1 October 2008

  14. @Polly: Don’t spend it in one place.

@Ivan: Yes, I remember talking! Except, well, it was just once and I don’t have a real good memory.

@Blunderprone: The Blunderprone Productions videos sound sophisticated enough to be on PBS. The LEP videos are crappy animations done in Photoshop with fake voices.

I don’t think it’s BPP being put to shame there.

@Sworn Enemy: LOL I remember that! You never got around to adding the blood…

@likesforests: So next time, use actual money instead of USCF certificates? But that would boost the costs because I’ll have to buy stamps…

@BDK: Well, it’s his massive biceps, of course. (Plus it’s fast food; I’m not even sure they cook using real eggs.)

@Chessaholic: Message from the Mascot–”Sorry, I’m not like that.”

@Mr. E: Aat least Raj Fahneen won’t have anything to pin on him.

  15. Donnie,

Damn! Just saw the video. You should have asked me for coronation music. Given the Mascot’s style… this song from Invader Zim would have been perfect!

  16. @Allen: Doh! Yes, some sort of music would have been a nice touch.

Rufus’ Welcoming Ceremony would have been awesome as well. When we played FF7 in college, everyone in the apartment hated it.

    Comment by Donnie | 5 October 2008

  17. Rufus’ Welcoming Ceremony isn’t pathetic sounding though. The Kitty Rally has a weak and sad sound and more appropriate given the amount of planning Mascot gave it.

    Comment by Allen | 6 October 2008

  18. OK, that makes sense. Maybe we’ll use it a few videos down the line :D

This video just looks like it took no planning. We actually threw out 3 other ideas because they were either lame(r) or would take too much work.

    Comment by Donnie | 6 October 2008

  19. Equally pathetic would be a kazoo band.
