Liquid Egg Product

Appealing to the lowest common denominator

From Dinosaur Mom: the blog readability test checks what level of reading comprehension is necessary to understand a site. It’s such a warm feeling inside to know a 7-year-old can browse to this site and get what’s going on. Not that the content of Liquid Egg Product is kid-friendly, of course.

cash advance

From Annie: the Political Compass. Instead of labeling you as left/right politically, this set of questions determines your economic values (socialist vs neo-liberal tendencies) and social values (authoritarian vs libertarian), placing you in one of four quadrants.

If you’ve taken the test before (I did about 6 years ago), a few questions have been added or changed to reflect recent events. Specifically, there’s at least one question regarding terrorism.

It appears that I’m about halfway to being an anarchist.

  1. Yeah, but the blog readability test can’t measure the sophisticated adultiness of the hilarity that is LEP–you’re the only blogger in the Whole, Wide, World who can somehow put non-verbal cues (e.g. the comic wink, the arched eyebrow, etc) into print. An extraordinary achievement that will be celebrated even unto the time when our ancestors of the far future are networks of pure energy light-years in extant, and they have everything that ever happened on Earth stored in atomic neural networks.

So you better keep producing the Kind, dude , ’cause these beings are going to be reviewing all of it a few billion years from now…

  3. I’m convinced I got the readability rating I did because I’m just not making any damned sense.

  4. I’m junior high. Me so proud.

You have to put Wahrheit’s comments on your Praises page now, just to balance things out y’know.

  5. @Wahrheit: If anyone is reading this stuff 200 years from now, I’d kinda worry about those guys.

Nonetheless the LEP machine will keep cranking…

    @l3rucewayne: Yeah, thanks.

@Dino: It’s the training required for your gov’t job. Don’t feel bad.

@Derek: Yeah, it’s you and your big words.

Ya know, Wahrheit’s comments may just be smarmy enough to stick on there.

  6. Boohoo, I didn’t mean to be smarmy, I’m half-serious–remember that book I told you about, The Anthropic Cosmological Principle? One of the authors wrote a later book that said we’ll all be recreated by computers of sorts in the far future; Matrix was a second-hand ripoff.

And I swear I was three-quarters serious about the energy-being descendants reading your blog; we still read Homer, after all.

  7. i too have an elementary reading level….ok, from now on, i will talk about how “ostentatious displays of wealth do nothing but incur the wrath and enmity of folks around you”

  8. @Wahrheit: LOL. Unfortunately, the quality of literature scale, the gap between Homer and LEP is rather significant. But thanks for the props anyway!

@chessloser: good idea, except substitute “opulence” for wealth, “indignation” for wrath, and “the proletariat” for folks. (Thank you, thesaurus.com.)

    Bitches :P

(I was about to paste the link stuff here, but there’s some kind of re-direct or HTML or whatever to some cash advance site in it- you might want to check the link/code here to see if that got slipped into yours, if you haven’t already.)

    Economic Left/Right: -8.12
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62

  10. Thanks for the tip! I did notice and expunge that part of the code.

So you’re pretty much an anti-Bush (who was about +8, +6). If you and him shook hands, it would destroy both of you and release grand amounts of energy.
