Gender, please

Cosplay or cross play?

Yahoo! news thought the growth of cosplay in Taiwan might make for an interesting article (cosplay is dressing up like cartoon or video game characters).

What’s more interesting is the picture used to accompany the story (see right). Although the article mentions that cosplay is most popular among high school girls, these cosplayers don’t look very much like high school girls to me. Or Taiwanese girls are just naturally ugly. Well, er, em, except of course like all the Taiwanese girls I know personally…all of y’all are cuties…*coughs uncomfortably*

Anyway, I am taking suggestions as to what the gender of these cosplayers are.

  1. HELLO! Where is the disclaimer about disturbing images?

  2. The idea about a disclaimer was only a suggestion. I never said I’d implement it! :D

  3. This is interesting - hadn’t heard of cosplay. thanks. (No I don’t think I’ll be taking it up myself but youth trends there tend to wander over here eventually …)

  4. There’s probably already a niche for it here, but I’m not sure how big it could possibly get. At least, you’ll never see me dress up like Sailor Jupiter.
