I don’t get it
A common money-saving tip is “Don’t go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, because you’ll buy more food.”
Based on experience, this is true. But unless you buy nothing but perishable food, doesn’t this just mean it’ll take longer before you have to go grocery shopping again?

I think the problem is you buy stuff you won’t really want to eat when you’re no longer starving.
Hm, potted meat, seemed like a good idea at the time….

(They keep selling it; someone must be buying the stuff.)

what I don’t get is how I go to walmart for a can of comet and leave with a month’s worth of canned food, twin packs of shampoo, and “buy one get one free” TV dinners.
Reply to annie@Allen: Man, if that museum weren’t all the way in Minnesota, I’d be there.
@Annie: It’s your inner philanthropist. Subconsciously, you knew you were going to donate all that canned stuff to a food bank.
Reply to DonnieI was up in Minnesota but I didn’t have enough time to make it down there. Damn. Google Maps says I was only 20 miles away from it. It’s only two hours from MSP.
