I hate the Ravens

As BDK has already noted, the Dolphins won their first game of the year, beating the Baltimore Ravens 22-16 in overtime.

I first saw this news landing in Houston this afternoon. It actually put me in a bit of a foul mood (???), so I listened to my hip-hop/rap CD while driving home. (There are two major things which will motivate me to listen to rap: being in a bad/aggressive mood or highway driving. The confluence of the two factors meant my choice of music was a foregone conclusion.)

There is little else to say, except my interest in the rest of the NFL season has taken a nosedive. The only thing to look forward to is hoping the Texans can finish above .500 for the first time in franchise history.

  1. Now can we just concentrate on the Dolphins beating New England next week? It defies all reason, but I’d love that sooo much…why do I hate the Patriots? I don’t know, they never did anything to me…sports just isn’t rational I guess. It’s a tribal thing like back in the day when the boys used to beat each other’s heads in with mastodon thigh bones, I guess.

  2. Grocery stores all over Baltimore will be running out of paper bags today.

All I have left to hope for in 2007 is the Patriots going undefeated.

Well…that and the weighted chess set, bag and digital clock I hope are under the xmas tree for me :P

  3. I’m so glad it was the Ravens. They acted like such whiney little bitches when they lost to the Pats, the Miami win couldn’t have come against a better team.

One more real obstacle for the Patriots. The Giants will likely be fighting for a playoff spot. The Patriots will only be fighting for pride. (No offense, Miami fans, but I don’t look at Miami as any major obstacle for the Pats: of course there could be an upset but I’m just going on the numbers–Miami doesn’t score enough to beat the Pats).

  4. @Wahrheit: But hating the Patriots is rational. They are better than whatever team you’re rooting for!

@gorckat: At least the Redskins fans don’t need any bags.
    Are you a Patriots fan?

@BDK: But wait! The Dolphins have momentum!

  5. I’m a Ravens fan first. My wife is a ‘Skins fan. I’m rooting for the Patriots only to see them go 19-0 or whatever it will be.

Oh- I got an early Xmas present today…an Ogden signed football :P My wife has scored me a Michael McCrary two years ago and a Steve McNair last year. She works for the city of Balitmore and meets players now and again. Ray and Heap are on my wish list.

The Ogden ball is apropo for the contest running now :D

  6. Awesome! Ask your wife if Ogden told her that she’s got to get Gebco.
