Lessons learned in 28 years of life

  1. It’s better to be excellent in a few things than kinda good at a lot of things.
  2. A lot of movies make you want to root for the bad guy.
  3. When a single girl invites you home, it’s not necessarily for a game of Parcheesi.
  4. People are prejudiced, and it’s part of human nature.
  5. I can’t dunk on a 10-foot rim.
  6. It doesn’t take as much as you think to make a difference.
  7. Writing good blog posts is not simple.
  8. Don’t get trapped in conversations with overly eager 55-year-old men.
  9. Even one mistake can ruin a reputation.
  10. Just when you’ve figured things out, you haven’t.
  11. Almost everyone has a better haircut than Scot Pollard.
  12. People operate for their own self-interest.
  13. It depends on what the definition of is is.
  14. Don’t make lists too long, even if much more could be listed. Readers lose focus.

  2. I’m prejudiced.

But I’ve never invited a man up to my place. And if I do, it wouldn’t be for Parcheesi either. I’d much prefer checkers. ;)
