No more karaoke for me

The US warns Turkey not to invade Iraq unilaterally: Talk about glass houses…

Security guard kills bad karaoke singer: This is the worst way to die I’ve seen since learning Pakistanis get killed by kites in an annual festival.

US Capitol

So Democrats won’t control spending, either: During the Clinton years, Republicans promised to reign in spending. It hasn’t happened. Now the Democrats have made a feint in controlling spending, and it won’t happen. What a surprise.

Maybe the Democrats are still better, because they’ll “tax and spend” instead of the Republicans’ “borrow and spend”.

Liquid Egg Product calls for all citizens to allow him to rule the US by fiat to straighten things out (read: unmitigated disaster).

My Buddy

Thousands march to support Chavez: Ah, yes, Mr. Chavez. We’ll see if his policies actually do any good, but it at least seems clear he has the backing of his people. Although those who don’t like him really don’t like him.

He has a slogan “democratising television and radio”, which he put into action by (of course) closing down a popular private TV station which aired opposition viewpoints.

Chavez keeps using that word “democracy”. I do not think it means what he thinks it means.

“Inconceivable!” I’m going to be thinking about that all day now. My birthday isn’t for several months, and I hope you forget to ask in several months.
