On the bright side, he’s no longer addicted
A concerned couple sends their 16-year-old son to a clinic to help him break his Internet addiction. So far, so good.
Less than a day later, the son is dead. Apparently, the trainers were not satisfied with his jogging speed on a Sunday morning run. So they put him in solitary confinement and beat him to death. (Presumably, they did not mean to actually kill him.)
Perhaps the trainers were frustrated they were not allowed to use electroshock therapy, which was recently banned by the Chinese government as a viable treatment.

wow. I cried when I was forced to factor 100 polynomials every day at math camp in middle school. guess i didn’t have it so bad.
child-rearing varies so greatly from culture to culture and yet most of us turn out ok. emphasis on most.
i think this post also needs a “patently ineffective” tag.
Reply to annieI was going to use “Patently Ineffective”, before realizing that it was a 100% surefire way to cure the guy’s Internet addiction.
Reply to DonnieWhat if he uploaded a digital persona onto the internet before he died? Wouldn’t he still be addicted to the internet, then?
Reply to AllenIndeed, much in the way we are addicted to air. Unfortunately for him, the addiction camp precluded that possibility.
