Round 2 Review

Finally the round 2 game against Wang. You can pretty much tell this was a game between two wanna-bes, especially the gaggle of errors in the endgame. Although maybe I’ll put it down to time pressure.

    I thought that I saw a missed winning tactic for you in this game so I fired up Fritz. What I saw was an illusion but 23…Rxf2+! looks interesting and may give black another chance.

    Per Fritz:
    (23… Rxf2+ 24. Kxf2 Qf6+ 25. Kg2 Qxa1 26. Qxa7 Qb1 27. Qxc5 Qxa2+ 28. Kh3 Qxb3=)
