I3rucewayne-I was only half serious about idealism, but I do have the concerns about Mike Huckabee, that he seems to a little too willing to use the power of the state for our own good on “health” issues, etc. He seems kind of fun in some ways, too, and the Fair Tax is intrguing. I think the best thing about the U.S. is that it’s set up so that no matter who is eleccted, they have limited powers.

That’s why I’m voting Liquid E. P. Mascot, baby. He won’t do any good, but he’ll do less harm!

Well I’m an idealist(i think), and yours is a new position to me on idealists… I think each presidential candidate intends to do what they think is good for the country(unless its just what they want and they think it’s bad for the country but good for them.) even if minorities and maybe even majorities disagree with the measures. While I’m no expert, the fair tax seems like it will to a large extent lessen the tax burden on folks. my two cents i guess.

No Ambassadorship, no Jackie Chan endorsement! I’m what Heinlein called a “business politician,” that is, one who delivers once the envelope has changed hands. It’s idealists who are downright dangerous–Hitler was one. I3rucewayne, I’m sorry to say that Huckabee looks like one of these to me, not exactly Hitler, but he’s going to do what’s “good for you” whether you want it or not…and tax you to pay for it. And take away your smokes. And make you eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. BOHICA.

@l3rucewayne: My instinct tells me Romney has almost no shot of getting the nomination (no matter how well he’s polling). Giuliani’s still the big fish to catch, if you’re backing Huckabee.
