The god of the atheists

Some atheists hold Richard Dawkins in such reverence, I wonder if they have not simply substituted one god for another.

    as long as reverence hasn’t taken over for independent, intelligent thought, I say revere away. dieties don’t matter if the followers are empty-skulled robots. :)

    @Tom: It certainly comes part of the package that humans don’t particularly like to be told what to do. Worshipping self, though, is a strong way to put it. (Unless you’re Alex Rodriguez.)

    @Annie: It would have been more accurate to go with a Dawkins as an overexposed superstar than a god, but going the extra step up was too hard to resist.
