What an awful (American) football weekend

Baylor Bears, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, Houston Texans, and Philadelphia Eagles.

These five (American) football squad teams have two things in common:

1. These are all the teams on my regular “root for” list.
2. They all lost.

Except for Florida, they all seemed to have lost in horribly brutal fashion. It’s probably a good thing I watched 0 minutes of TV this weekend.

Consolation: none of the scores were as bad as 75-7, the result of the Texas Tech vs University of Pacifist Nurses game.

So are you a Texan? If baylor bears refers to baylor university then 3 of the teams are texas ones so was wondering. Oh I guess this reveals my football ignorance…

that was very culturally sensitive of you, putting the (american), so as to distinguish between football and soccer, or as everyone in the universe says, futbol….

l3rucewayne: 13 years in the Philly area, 10 years in Texas, and 5+ in Florida.

chessloser: With that Dutch guy floating around, I didn’t want to let him think there was an American with an actual interest in football/soccer.

American rugby would have been a better name for the sport (considering 90% of the time, the ball is advanced via the hands).
