Tonight is a night to remember. I drew a Grandmaster in a game of chess.
OK, so it wasn’t under tournament conditions. In fact, it was a simul with about 20 games. Even so, the mere concept of drawing someone rated 1000 900 points higher is staggering, and I will be on Cloud 9 for a little while.

Wow! For real? That’s some accomplishment. Hope to see the game. Congrats man! So, you’re FIDE rated? Who was the grandmaster?

Grandmaster… that’s like the highest of the chess people right? sort of like besting tiger woods in golf? or, not really besting since you drew but tying? If there is a tie in golf. Which I don’t think there is.

@ookwelbekendalsemc: No FIDE rating, just USCF, weighing in at a hefty 1551.
@chessloser: Pretty much…a GM with 95% reduced thinking time.
@annie: Yes, GM is the highest title. Not that I’m into golf, but to complete the analogy, my feat was sorta like tying Tiger Woods if he were only allowed to use his putter.
@BDK: His teeth were better than mine, and he’s 53 or so.
